Paradox ....

i jus got these paradoxes from some wer.... paradoxes are contradictory statements that may nonetheless be true.... u wudve seen this in lotsa indian movies as part of the comedy track.... n e way here are few interstng ones....

1. a man bot a ring for hs wife for 200 bucks. however, hs wife didnt like the ring & requested hs hubby to replace it with a more beautiful 1. the next day the man went to the shop and gave back the ring and selected a 400buck ring instead. as the shopkiper gav hm the ring, he started hs way back without payin for it. the shopkiper ws amazd & askd for the paymnt. the man replied - 'ystrde i paid 200 for the ring & 2day i gav u back the ring bt i didnt tek back the money. so u r paid in full'. saying ths he got away in pride. -------------------------- whr's the catch???????????

2. The barber paradox:In a certain village there is a man, so the paradox runs, who is a barber; this barber shaves all and only those men in the village who do not shave themselves. Query: Does the barber shave himself?Any man in this village is shaved by the barber if and only if he is not shaved by himself. Therefore in particular the barber shaves himself if and only if he does not. We are in trouble if we say the barber shaves himself and we are in trouble if we say he does not.

3."I always lie" is a paradox because if it is true it must be false.

4. "The following sentence is correct. The previous sentence is wrong."

plz do comment me if u happen to kno any more paradox by any chance.... i luv to see those.... :)

hey hey! long time no see.been AGES since i saw u online. dont tell me ur working tht hard in ur office.probably just stuffing urself in ur canteen rite.haha. anyway...i didn't get ur 1st paradox.but i dont care.i dont feel like thinking rite now.HAHA.so here are a couple for YOU to think abt =D enjoy!
-----------
The slower will never be overtaken by the quicker, for that which is pursuing must first reach the point from which that which is fleeing started, so that the slower must always be some distance ahead.
---------------

The next sentence is true but you must not believe it.
The previous sentence was false

1. Recently came across a statistics paradox:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simpson's_paradox

2. Some mathematical stuff:
X^2 = X + X + X +... + ( X times )
differentiate on both sides:
2X = 1 + 1 + 1 + ... + ( X times )
2X = X
2 = 1 !! :)

3. Another similar one I have seen when I was in school:
assume
a = b = 1
ab = b^2
ab - a^2 = b^2 - a^2
a(b-a) = (b+a)(b-a)
a = b+a
1 = 2 !! :)
