It means Xmas

Christmas is one big occasion (or a good excuse) in western countries with their traditional way of celebrating it by having a good long family get together… The grown up kids or uncles or closest friends or other relatives normally meet at the convenient location (any of the residence) and just sit over the couch for whole day having good laugh, watching movies, playing games and eating those traditional food…

I never had this unique feeling even though I was at home with my relations for pongal or diwali… I normally hang out most of the times … be it my friends or family…. We always prefer to stay outta home…. This Christmas was another unique one in my life …. This is completely an unplanned one turned out to be a pleasant day altogether….

The morning was stunningly freezing as I realized this only when I cruised in my motorbike for cricket …. Paining 10 mins journey and we played a busy cricket for 3 hours without minding the heavy crowd at the ground…. Skipped my breakfast as its 11 already and I was getting ready to meet one of my relatives… not too close …din know them for long… all that pushed me to meet them was due to the fact that they live in 2 kms radius from my home and I was desperate to eat somewer out that afternoon…..

I don wanna go deep and dig in wat way they related to me… rather its better to explain their profile…. A gentleman with his own profile living Indian life after a good long period abroad…. A wife of him very much kindhearted and love to socialize… two kids of em getting accustomed to Indian life with their usual pinch of naughty and sometimes tough approach….. The couplez working for top 2 IT companies in Bangalore and hence not much elaboration needed on their lifestyle…. On top of it we found 3 more female old human beings and 3 more kids joined the family for a short vacation from their home town…

It’s all blasting with 4 ladies, 5 kids, 1 man and later my wife & me joined them…. Same conventional talks every wer with their own talk mates …. Me and the man of the house…. My wife with other ladies mostly talking further on relations, food, cooking, blab la blab la in the kitchen… the kids having their best time in their room with usual/energetic mix of playing & fighting….

Then came the lunch time where I should say I had one of the most healthiest lunch of the year…. The greens of drumstic, gravy from soya beans, cereals, rice, well made ladies fingers, bajjis, rasam and a lovely sweet to add with…. I had stomach (heart) full enjoying every second of it…. Usually the lunch hosts has this wrong definition of hospitality which means ‘Guests should eat more than what they are normally capable of …well basically to eat like a pig’….. I was more than happy on that occasion as they left the whole package to our wish on the customizing front…. But I ate to their surprise (periya surprise ilainu solreengala)…. And made them feel very much comfortable on that lunch segment ; )

We got in to a game called as Sequence which intrstd me in the first approach… its basically a board game to be played with usual set of playing cards…. 6 of we played in 3 teams…. Its more about thinking combined with a flavoured luck…. To all of our dismay the oldest lady + young kid team won the game without giving much effort….(isnt it a wonder??? I thought we are prout IT ians with impeccable thinking ability and all blab la wer poooof !!! in a flash ) I liked it though… : )

Later switched to movie watching event and this time the kids were getting closer and closer to me …. Some times I pity ther parents but most of the times I admired them (kids)…. We spent most of the day with fulla socializing & stuffs…. And with out plans it ended up like a proper & most typical Xmas day what it means to westerners ; )

I spent an almost similar Christmas here. Drove down to DC and stayed with my cousins' family. Food, roam, poker... good fun it was.
