Jalaluddin Mohammed !!!

It all started with the news that coverd the controversy in the movie ‘Jodha Akbar’…. Lets get to the controversy later and focus on the context of the post… I slightly rembrd few points about this chap Akbar which I heard during my school days…. The controversy talks triggered my curiosity to know akbar’s proper history…

Way too amazing, I had a wrong impression on mughal rulers known for their barbaric attitude towards the country were ever they rule…. Actually they were but akbar was a little kinda exception on this… son of humayun, father of salim (Jehangir), husband of Jodha bai (Rajput princess)…. Akbar captured a significant role for himself in the mughal era by living his own way of life…. Herez the list that impressed me on his life…

…though akbar was born in sindh, he was taken to afganistan by his dad humayun… he was a mere fugitive that time and he grown up in afgan soil with out any education… he spent his childhood in learning to fight, hunt and those sorta stuffs…

…Akbar got in to the throne at his age of 13 and straight away went to the Warfield when they fought against hindu warrior hemu… akbars chief minister baram khan was known for his thirst to conquer whatever he finds.... this drived him to go nasty and kill the king (Hemu) in brutal manner… however, history (the movies and books) says akbar wasn’t keen in killing people to conquer the land…

…akbar took the responsblts once he became the grown up king… he then started to respect the people irrespective of their race or background… he took off the pilgrimage tax and non muslim tax that he had on hindus in his empire… many mughal rulers din like him as he is being so liberal and spoiling the reputation of the mughals…

…known for being a shrewd politician, he married rajput princess to prevent political problems and this made him to be more unique in the well of mughals…. He let his 3rd wife (jodha bai) to practice her own religion in the mughal’s palace… infact, she had her own mini temple inside the palace in her area… akbar was infact attracted to her more and more…

…though he is an illiterate, he had extreme passion about gaining knowledge and so he had many scholars in his court and they read out the books for him … akbar himself wrote many books with the help of other literates in his court… he always appreciated talented chaps in his kingdom who excelled in management, poems, writings, intellectual skills, fighters etc…. akbar himself is a master of many… hunting, carpenting, entertainment, writings etc….

…he is the only mughal who later gave up his non-veg. eating habbit to show his attachment with Jainism… he had setup a chamber to encourage talk shows on various religions… he even encouraged aethists to come out with their views…

All the above points are purely my research outcome and only based on these, I admired this one and only unique mughal ruler who wanted some real peace and harmony in his kingdom….however, I visited few sites that totally bashed akbar and his slaughter house to kill hindus…. I some how feel it’s a kind of faked one….i am not sure though…

These above points made me extremely curious to watch much hyped ‘Jodha bai’…. The trailor of the movie made an impression of a full fledged action movie of a mughal emperor… however, the movie is mostly dominated by the love and romance between the rajput princess and the sehensha….

It’s a warm and pleasant movie for those who likes love movies …. An intrstng piece of art work for those who keen on the technical wonders that one can make in the movie (editing, camera works and stuffs)… an intrstng not-so-famous bit of history for those who wanna know wat exactly happened…

a r rehman once againd proved his talent with the BGM and songs…. The choreography was mindblowing in ‘Azeem-o-shaan’ song… the melody of ‘Jashn-e-bahaara’ still echoing in my mind…. Hrithik, lived as a akbar in the whole movie…. I wonder if akbar would have been this fit… am not much of a ash mad and so I don’t have any comments on her in this movie….

Jodha Akbar…… from my view is an excellent product to enjoy once and nothing much to excite (or mourn) about….

one kosuru news:

akbar started a new religion Din-i-Ilahi.. which was supposed to be mixture of all the religions, aiming at one religion and one god..

and of course, it was a flop..

"akbar naama" is the auto biography of akbar..if u r interested u can read it..
